MAC jeans for men sit in that useful space between a tailored trouser and ordinary denim. Designed in Wald, near Regensburg, and made with European fabrics, they are built for men who want a jean that holds its shape through a full day, at a desk, in the car, walking the shop floor, without going slack at the knee.
At Logans of Cloughmills we buy the men's collection the same way we buy the women's: by fit first. The names on the tickets matter. Arne is the modern straight leg most men start with. Arne Pipe takes the same rise and thins the hem by a centimetre or two. Ben is the regular, straight cut if you prefer a classic five-pocket. Driver Jeans are cut in MACFLEXX, the brand's high-stretch denim, and move like a soft trouser while still reading as jeans. Jog'n Jeans use sweat denim — the look of a five-pocket jean with the hand of a jogger. Lennox and the Driver chinos cover the days when indigo is too much.
Waist sizes are given in inches, from 28 through to 42 and 44 on selected styles. Inside legs run 30", 32", 34" and, on some pairs, 36". That is the part most UK high-street jeans get wrong. MAC lets you buy the waist you actually wear and the length your shoes need.

Men's MAC Jeans style guide
Arne. A modern five-pocket with a moderate rise and a straight leg. Slim through the thigh without clinging. This is the pair most men reorder. Works with a knit, a shirt, or a blazer that would look overdressed with a skinny jean.
Arne Pipe. The same rise and seat as Arne, with a narrower opening at the hem. Choose this if you wear slimmer shoes or want a neater break over a loafer.
Ben. Regular fit, straight through. More room in the thigh than Arne. The sensible choice if you find modern cuts pinch when you sit.
Driver Jeans (MACFLEXX). High-stretch denim with strong recovery. The silhouette is modern and straight-narrow. These are the jeans to buy if ordinary denim bags out by mid-afternoon, or if you spend the day in and out of a car. Foot width on a size 33 is typically around 36cm.
Jog'n Jeans. Sweat denim in a five-pocket shape. Soft at the waist, clean enough to wear outside the house. Weekend cloth that still looks finished.
Lennox and Driver chinos. Not jeans, but they live in the same wardrobe. Lennox is a slim modern chino with a moderate rise and side pockets. Driver Pants use the same MACFLEXX idea in a chino cloth — navy, grey, dune, brown — for days that need a sharper front.
Washes run from dark authentic and blue-black through rinsed and stonewashed indigo, plus black, grey and the odd seasonal colour. Darker rinses take a jacket. Lighter stones take a polo.
Men's MAC Jeans frequently asked questions
Yes, if you want denim that keeps its line. MAC has made trousers and jeans since 1973 and still designs every pair in Germany. The cotton comes from European mills; the stretch yarns are there so the jean moves and then returns to shape.
You pay more than high-street denim. You also stop replacing pairs that have gone baggy at the knee after a month. That is the calculation most of our customers make after the first pair.
All four are five-pocket jeans. The cut is what changes.
- Arne — modern fit, straight leg, moderate rise. The default recommendation.
- Arne Pipe — Arne's rise and seat with a slimmer hem. A tighter finish at the shoe.
- Ben — regular fit, straight leg, more ease through the thigh. Closer to a traditional jean.
- Driver Jeans — modern fit in MACFLEXX denim. The stretchiest of the jeans, with the strongest recovery. Buy these if comfort is the first requirement and you still want a clean silhouette.
Jog'n Jeans sit slightly apart: sweat denim rather than classic twill, same five-pocket outline.
They are sized in inches at the waist, which is already more honest than a branded S/M/L. Measure a pair you like, laid flat, and match the waist number. Most men take their usual jean waist in Arne and Ben.
MACFLEXX styles — Driver Jeans in particular — have more give. If you are between sizes and want a closer fit, you can try the smaller waist. If you are between sizes and sit for long stretches of the day, stay with the larger one. Always check the individual product page; a Pipe hem and a regular Ben do not wear the same.
Inside leg is sold separately: 30", 32", 34", and 36" on selected styles. Measure from crotch seam to floor, or measure a pair that already breaks where you want it.
- 30" — a short break, or for men around 5'8" and under who do not want cloth pooling on the shoe.
- 32" — the length most men need with a trainer or a casual shoe.
- 34" — for taller frames, or if you like a break over a boot.
- 36" — long inseams only, and only on certain styles.
MAC's own chart puts a 32" inseam at 80–83cm and a 34" at 85–88cm. If you are unsure, send us your height and the shoes you wear with jeans. We would rather you order the right length once.
Yes. How much depends on the cloth.
Standard Arne and Ben denim has enough elastane to sit and bend without the waistband cutting in. MACFLEXX, used in Driver Jeans and Driver Pants, is a different fabric: highly elastic, breathable, and stable, so it springs back rather than sitting out. Jog'n Jeans stretch because the denim is knitted more like sweat cloth.
None of these are rigid raw denim. If you want a jean that needs six months to soften, this is the wrong brand. If you want one you can wear on day one and still look pressed at six o'clock, this is the point of MAC.
Turn them inside out. Wash on a gentle cycle at 30°C with a mild detergent. Skip fabric softener; it coats the elastane and the jean loses snap. Do not tumble dry. Hang them to dry and the shape stays where MAC cut it.
Dark rinses will lose a little colour in the first few washes. Wash them alone the first time. Check the care ticket on each pair — Driver styles sometimes allow 40°C — but 30°C and air-drying will not offend any of them.
Wash less often than you think. Spot-clean if you can. The dye and the stretch both last longer that way.

A dark Arne or a blue-black Driver with a shirt and a blazer is how most of our customers go to a restaurant or a Friday office. Lennox chinos do the same job with less denim in the look. Keep the wash dark and the hem clean. Lighter stones and Jog'n cloth belong with knitwear and trainers.
